No 2623 Rare Chinese porcelain chocolate pot - circa 1700
Rare Chinese Dehua porcelain pot, probably used for chocolate, dating between 1690 - 1720. Exported and then decorated in Europe predominantly in underglaze red and gold. The painting shows naïve Chinese scenes that Europeans felt represented China - a strange pagoda, a brick house.
Condition: Excellent for age - a tiny chip on the base of the handle, slight fritting on the rim and kiln dust on the base.
