No 2388 Chinese ceramic container - Kangxi or earlier
Chinese ceramic container - possibly used as an incense container or for holding incense tools. The decoration, in relief, on the front of the container shows just such a pot holding incense tools. The reverse of the container, again in relief, shows a shou character, representing good luck. The sancai glaze - green, blue, aubergine and ochre - is slightly luminous with some craquelure. Dating from Kangxi period or possibly slightly earlier Transitional period.
Condition: generally good for age, although photographs show that there are a number of glaze chips on corners and around the rim.
