Large 19th Century famille rose porcelain ginger jar – finely painted with 4 scenes displaying flowers, trees, birds and butterflies. It has been used as a lamp base at some point in its history, shown by the small brass lined hole near the base. Otherwise in excellent condition apart from manufacturing shrink cracks to base, glaze dimples and slight dullness to exterior – all of which add to its provenance.
