No 2280 Ko Imari Arita low serving bowl - circa 1800-1830
Ko Imari Arita 'landscape and lotus' low serving bowl of foliate form with a bulls eye base, decorated principally in Sometsuke style with some additional enamels and gilding. The interior is decorated with alternating patterns of gilt lotus against an iron red ground and a landscape vignette with stylised Bodhi trees. The centre is decorated with a gobenka style motif. The reverse is decorated traditionally, with sketchily painted lotus arabesque. The bowl dates from the late Edo period (early 19th century.
Condition good.
