Beautiful Japanese vase - believed to be Shigaraki ware from the Shiga Prefecture. It has the typical natural beauty of this type of ware, with coarse surface and characteristic red burn marks. The colours, an ochre background decorated with a range of brown bamboos, ensure this piece stands out from the crowd. It has been signed on the base.

Height 23 cm, diameter of top opening 8 cm.
