No 3094 Chinese celadon vase - late Ming dynasty
Chinese celadon vase - Ming dynasty, 16/17th century. Large and heavy, originating from the Longquan kilns, Zhejiang. Covered in a crackled celadon glaze and carved with scrolling chrysanthemum around the body of the vase, a chevron diaper border and a toothed border to the foot. The foot rim is burnt red/brown in colour.
Acquired from an old Scottish collection.
Condition: Two small areas of missing or damaged glaze to the lip rim and light chipping to the rim.
