Blue/green glaze pot for carrying and dispensing liquid, possibly water or rice wine. Believe to be Martaban ware- unrefined stoneware storage jar – produced from various kilns in Southern China. Has a central handle, spout and lid. Base slightly indented. Would once have had a rope through the handles to enable it to be carried over the shoulder. Probably 19th century although could be earlier.
Condition: good for age, no repairs or cracks. Edges of lid very rough but appears to be original form. Some craquelure in glaze and general surface wear. Please study photos as part of description.
