No 2278 Japanese Hirado sensui saki cup and saucer

Japanese Hirado sensui saki cup and saucer dating to the Meiji period 1880- 1900.  Handpainted and decorated in underglaze blue, with two children playing outside surrounded by butterflies.  Both cup and saucer marked on the base – ‘Sensui’ in Japanese kanji characters.

Diameter of cup 5.5 cm, diameter of saucer 8 cm.
