No 2282 Japanese Ko Imari Arita Sansui-zu scallopped dish SOLD
Sansui-zu (landscape) scalloped dish. Painted in somenishikide style ie in underglaze blue with additional gilt outlined enamels with a highly stylised Chinese rocks and water sansui (landscape).
Dish dates to 1750-80 – Edo period. Traditionally these designs, without patterns to reverse, are dated to the Meiwa era and it was probably fired at the Higouchi kiln in the Nangawara Valley in Arita. Excellent condition for age.
Diameter 20.5 cm, stands 3 cm high at rim.
