Huge 17th Century Japanese sleeve vase (rollwagon) - powder blue with overglaze gilt decoration showing chrysanthemums amongst rocks on main body and lappets at the base. Early Arita. Craquelure within the blue glaze. A statement piece.

Condition: Top rim cut and smoothed leaving hairline to rim. Rubbing to gilt, as expected with age.

Size: height 50 cm.
